Common Questions

Things families ask before they call.

If you don't see your question here, it doesn't mean it's a small one — just call. The first conversation answers most of them.

Every family's situation is different — the size of the home, the services needed, and the timeline all affect the cost. That's why we don't offer fixed packages. After a free in-home consultation, we put together a clear, written quote tailored to your specific needs. No surprises, no hidden fees.
Not at all. Many of our clients — especially adult children managing a parent's transition — aren't local. We keep you informed every step of the way by phone, text, or email, with photos and short updates so you always know what's happening.
The earlier the better — especially if you have a firm move-in date at a senior-living community or a real estate closing deadline. That said, transitions don't always come with advance notice. Reach out as soon as you know you'll need help and we'll do everything we can to accommodate your timeline.
We coordinate everything. Depending on the items, we can arrange donations to local Cleveland-area charities, consignment with local shops, or responsible junk removal. Our goal is to make sure as little as possible goes to waste — and that nothing is left for the family to deal with after the fact.
Rather than hosting a traditional estate sale, we photograph and list items the family wants to sell on Facebook Marketplace and other platforms. We handle all buyer inquiries, coordinate pickup times, and manage the transaction — a more private, flexible, and often faster alternative to a traditional estate sale.
Yes. We're familiar with many senior-living communities across Greater Cleveland and can coordinate directly with their move-in teams. This helps ensure a smooth transition on move-in day — the right items arrive in the right rooms, at the right time, with minimal disruption to your loved one.
Yes. Summit Senior Services carries full liability and cargo insurance covering every job we take on. We bring proof of coverage to every consultation and can provide certificates of insurance to senior-living communities, family attorneys, or anyone else who needs them on file.
On the consultation — me, Brian Schoeffler. On move days and sort days, it's me plus a small, vetted crew I work with regularly. You won't get a different set of strangers every visit, and you'll always have my direct phone number.

Easier to just call?

I answer the phone myself most of the time. If you reach voicemail, leave a name and a city and I'll call you back the same day.
